Purpose
The Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is developed to create a high-capacity, efficient, and sustainable industrial and logistics network between Delhi and Mumbai. The project focuses on developing world-class industrial zones, smart cities, and advanced infrastructure to support rapid industrialization and economic growth. It aims to reduce logistics costs, improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance connectivity between major economic hubs through integration with the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. The corridor promotes manufacturing competitiveness, attracts domestic and foreign investment, and generates large-scale employment opportunities. The DMIC plays a vital role in regional development by encouraging planned urbanization, improving infrastructure, and supporting long-term economic growth through modern, reliable, and sustainable industrial systems.
