India’s real-time infrastructure monitoring platform, developed by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation under the Government of India, is a centralized digital system designed to track and manage large-scale public infrastructure projects across the country. At the core of this system is the PAIMANA platform (Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring & Analytics for Nation-building), which serves as an advanced, data-driven control center for monitoring projects worth ₹150 crore and above. The platform integrates data from multiple ministries through API-based systems, ensuring a “one data, one entry” approach that reduces redundancy and improves accuracy. It continuously tracks key performance indicators such as project timelines, cost expenditures, physical progress, and reasons for delays, using AI-powered dashboards and analytics tools. With GIS-enabled tracking, projects can also be visualized geographically, helping authorities understand regional progress and bottlenecks. The system currently monitors thousands of projects across sectors like railways, roads, power, and telecom, collectively worth over ₹40 lakh crore. By providing real-time insights, automated alerts for delays or cost overruns, and detailed performance reports to higher authorities like the PMO and Cabinet Secretariat, PAIMANA enables faster decision-making, improved transparency, and better coordination among ministries, effectively functioning as a national-level infrastructure “control tower” for India’s development projects.
